Because ... a prayer

Holy Father,

I'm bringing this to You because You are the only One that is truly in control.   You are the only one that can bring peace and understanding to a violent and ignorant world.

Like a lot of people... and I mean millions upon millions of people... I am angry.   

I want to fight back against the evil that is happening in Afghanistan, in the USA, and in the rest of the world.    

I want there to be consequences for evil actions taken against my people, Your people.

You tell us to pray and ask, and believe that we will receive what we ask.

You tell us to have FAITH.

You ask Your people to be faithful and to trust You in all things.

We do, Lord. 

I do.   I trust YOU.

You are God,  Father,  Savior,  Warrior God,  Prince of Peace, Healer, Faithful and True, King of Kings and LORD of Lords.  There is none beside You.  

You give us weapons of warfare that no evil can stand against.   Your Word is a weapon like no other, the Sword of the Spirit.   You tell us to don Your armor.   To stand in the power of Your might and put on the Armor of God.

 Not our might.  Yours.

 Not our armor.  Yours.

Not our weapons.  Yours.

Truth.  Righteousness. The Gospel of Peace. Faith.  Salvation.  The Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.

These are the weapons we wield and that You make powerful.    You activate them when we take them up, when we petition You in earnest and faithful prayer.   

The fit of the armor is perfect.   The weight of the sword is balanced and sure.  Its craftmanship has no equal.

Our battle is not against flesh and blood.   This battle is against evil incarnate.   Against spiritual darkness and wickedness.

Father, we give this to You.    We trust You for the outcome.

Lord, I pray for Your people, for this country and for the world.  Lord, I lift repentance to You and shame for turning away from You and Your way.   Lord, I pray that Your people turn from wickedness and seek You in everything that we do.  Lord, I pray for You to forgive Your people and to turn your face back towards us and bless us.  I plead with You to restore this land, to waken all of its inhabitants to the Truth of Your Word, to open the eyes of the blind and the minds of the wicked.   Holy God, in the Name of Jesus,  please transform us and revive us once again to be a people who worship You and You alone.   To be a people who stand in Your might and in prayer against evil in all its forms. 

May this be a turning point in this nation, in Your people.

Holy Holy God, I pray that you will put Your hand on Your children, those that are in harm's way.  That You will remove them from evil.  That You will direct them. That You would put a hedge about them and blind the eyes and hearing of their enemies.   I pray that You would send confusion and despair into the enemy's camp and into their leadership.  I pray that their weapons will fail and that all they can see and hear is You.   I pray that they would fall to their knees in fear and trembling of the One and Only True God.    I pray that they will turn to You for salvation and be transformed by the renewing of their minds.

I pray that You will expose the rulers of wickedness, and open the eyes of those who follow them.

Lord God Almighty, I lift all of this to You in the Name of Your Precious Son Jesus Christ.   Because of His Sacrifice.  Because of Your Faithfulness to every promise You ever spoke.

In His Name. The Name of Your Son.

Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.   Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with Truth, and having put on the Breastplate of Righteousness, and having shod your feet with the Preparation of the Gospel of Peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the Helmet of Salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  With all prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints..." "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled." It is time to pray.   It is time to demonstrate an outrageous belief in Jesus and His Word.
