Perfection.

God is not a man. He is not a weakling. He is not crippled by a disaffected human kind of love.

If you believe that God is love, and He would never allow anybody to go to Hell, you are wrong.

Why would you even want to believe in a God like that? That would be a God that you have set limits on... one that you have made up to suit yourself.

Yes, God is Love. But His love is the highest example of care and discipline, provision and denial, self sacrifice and self protection. His love is extreme, and it is without measure. God's love is Power. He lavishes it on us. He is faithful to His own character of love. He is faithful to every Promise He ever spoke to us by His Word.

He did not promise to love us in spite of our sin.

What kind of righteousness and goodness would that be?

His goodness and His promise is that if we repent of our sin and turn to Him, that He will forgive us and save us. That He will answer our prayers perfectly. That He will meet every need perfectly.

His idea of perfection is beyond what we can understand, yet it is what He wants for us.

In His perfect love, He sent Jesus as a sacrifice for our sin. By His death on the cross and resurrection, we are saved (if we believe Him and turn away from sin, ask Him to forgive us and save us.) There has to be that action on our part.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3;16 NKJV)

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3: 18 NKJV)

"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." (Romans 8:1 NKJV)

We don't get saved just because God is love. We are saved because we believe what He did for us, because we turn away from our previous sinful life, because we are made a new creature in Christ.

See, if you truly believe in Jesus... if you have truly been saved, or "born again", then you have the Holy Spirit residing within you. You have been internally changed forever. The Holy Spirit teaches you and guides you and when you teeter back into sinning, He reminds you of who you are in Christ and tells you to get back on the right path.

The Holy Spirit is not your conscience. He is a being that comes to live within you when you are born again in Christ. He is the deposit that God makes in you when you are saved. He is a part of the sacrificial promise God made, and is the power of God living within you.

Will you ever sin again once you are born again? Well, yeah.
But you will be convicted and conflicted and you will feel like there is a wedge between you and God and how you want to be living. So you ask forgiveness and get back to living in the right way.

Although it may not be so easy to stop doing the things you really don't want to do, it is really just that simple.

Salvation through Jesus Christ is the only way to God and Heaven. It is the only path to the Kingdom of God. In Jesus' own words “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14: 6 NKJV)

Please turn to Jesus today for salvation.
