My ice maker is on the fritz.

Not on the fridge... on the fritz.   It's fritzed out...

I'm not complaining about it.   It's been inoperable for several years now.

Does not work.

There is probably a simple fix for it, but I've just never bothered.

Not that I mind.    I bought some plastic ice trays from today's version of the five and dime store and life went on.

I have filled and emptied and filled and emptied these plastic ice trays for years now.

Every time I do this, I think of my childhood when home ice makers didn't exist.    If they did, I was not aware of them.  We didn't have one.    Shoot!  We were barely past the time where you had to go buy a block of ice to put in your icebox.     No, little ones, I am not making this up.   I was a kid in the good old days.

We had ice trays that needed to be filled when they were empty.

So you see, what appeared at first to be an inconvenience actually became a pleasure taking me back in time to si…

Why Are We Amazed?

Why are we always so amazed when God answers our prayers? I asked this question several years ago when He removed a back ache.

I was leading a Bible study in Texarkana and my back had been hurting for days. Thinking that I would not be able to make the study that day, I prayed during the day that the back ache would be removed.

When it was time to go to the study, my back was still hurting, but I decided to go anyway. I didn't want to miss it and I figured my back ...would be hurting wherever I was.

So I drove to Texarkana, still hurting... walked in and sat down at the table and the room filled with people. When it was time to start, I leaned forward to pick up my Bible and realized that my back no longer was hurting.

I stood up and stretched this way and that way! There was no pain! I was so blown away!

How amazing is our God! He answered my prayer perfectly and where others could see it happen.

I don't know who in that room needed to witness His hand …

Outrageous Belief

09/21/2015................ Let me tell you about my faithful God. Never count Him out, because He is the only ONE you can truly count on. Believe Him and KNOW that He has never encountered the impossible. No situation is beyond His reach. No problem is too big for Him to solve. No sorrow is greater than His love and compassion. There is nothing and no one above or over Him. He is never unavailable and He is ALWAYS on time. He will lift you from the depths and raise you on high. The Joy of the Lord is His to give to all who ask. He is Father, Savior, Provider, Healer, Teacher and Friend. He holds us precious. There is no way to write down everything... there is not enough internet to contain all the wonders of God. ‪#‎outrageousbelief‬

This Is It

We just want to be held.

No.. strike that.

We just NEED to be held.

Held softly securely as though we are priceless and the rarest of treasure.

Held urgently and tightly to heaving chest and flowing tears of joy as though  we had been lost and then found!

Held like a child embraced and pulled close to the love heart of a mother, father, grandparent.

Held as if all of breath and life and love and grace resides in us.

Held in a way that lets us know that we are needed, essential, vital and indispensable, necessary.

Held because we are loved beyond all measure and understanding and no one could ever know the depth of it.

Held as if we will never be let go.  Never.. be.. let.. go..  Never..

In our desperate need, we must surrender to the embrace and allow ourselves to be entrapped and entranced by the One that holds us.    Relax... be still....release and lean into the caring.... the need of the One.

The One that sacrificed everything.... just so that He could hold us in His mighty and ge…
